Goodbye 2008!

We had some good times this year, but I'd be lying if we wern't excited for things to come in 2009. We held it together over a few bumps in the road and we are all the stronger for it heading into the new year. Here's to our future adventures together ... Happy New Year!!!

It's been such a hot summer and since Sadie likes to shed her hair, we thought we'd try a new look. She's a little self concious about it, but we still love our Sadie!

While there is no excuse for lagging behind in my blog updates, here is the condensed version of our life since April...

1. Kids finish Spring Soccer
2. D.J. laid of from Merck (they cut 1200 employees)
3. D.J. freaks out momentarily
4. Becky finds a full-time teaching job
5. D.J. Gets back into the Army National Guard
6. Becky quits full-time job after a few days
7. Becky finds a better part-time position teaching English at Palisade High School
8. D.J. gets a great job with Novo Nordisk
9. Kids back in school and begin Fall Soccer
10. We manage to throw in a few trips and family fun...

Looking at our summer on a list seems so callused so I've added a few pictures to re-assure myself that we actually did have some fun along the way.

Spring Break Vacation

With the chilly weather we have been having we decided to jump in the car and head in a Southwesterly direction in search for sunshine over Spring Break. We stayed in Las Vegas on the way down to Palm Springs to see my sister, Jessica, and family. What a beautiful home they have and weather to boot!

On the way home we stayed in St. George with Jon and his dog, Daisy, for a couple days (Jenny and kids were visiting family up North). We ate good food, watched some baseball under the sun and the kids went swimming with their Barney cousins who happened to be in St. George as well.

We can't wait for our next trip to see them all again!

My Brother, Jon and Jenny came to visit us last weekend and we had such a great time catching up. Ryan and Jaryn had a blast playing with Cricket, Tilly and Dewey. We had so much fun together we decided to head their way for our spring break this last week...

Our New Puppie

If you've been reading Kellie's Blog, you already know we have a new addition to the family. Her name is Sadie and she is a Red Lab. We had never seen a red lab before, so when we met her at the door of Sportsman's Warehouse, we all fell in love with her. We couldn't move into our new home without a dog for Ryan and Jaryn. They still can't believe we finally have a dog. Sadie has been tons of fun but not without great effort on the part of Becky who spends most of her day with her. She is training very well and we are grateful for wood floors making the intermittant accident easy to clean. She is great with the kids, but Tabitha, our cat, is not so sure about the whole thing yet. She has recently figured out how to "fetch" and now can go for a jog with D.J. at about a 12 minute pace for three blocks (perfect for him).

We've finally Moved in!

In December we finally finished our home enough to move in. It was a nice break from living out of suitcases and sleeping bags in our bonus room upstairs. Now there's 100 little things we need to finish inside to make it feel like our home.

Just got back from the Reunion Organized by Mike & Marilyn Erickson in Bountiful, Utah. It was a beautiful day we all had a great time catching up with the Erickson Clan.

Gibb Family Reunion

The Gibb Family Reunion was an Epic Success this year. Eight of the Twelve Children and their Families were able to camp at Palisades National Park Near Manti, UT. The highlight of the Reunion was our service project to several families in the Sterling Ward. We spent Our last morning working together in their yards. We all came away feeling like we had not only helped some families in need, but more importantly, grown closer as a family.

As always, we feel lucky to have such great family to share these memories with.

Fourth of July

We went to Richfield over the 4th with Mike & Marilyn and the Barney's. The cows were still there but G-ma Beth wasn't and we all noticed it.

Mike Barbecued and we sipped frozen punch bags from Ideal Dairy to keep cool. Spending time in Richfield is like going back in time.

Thanks Mike & Marilynn for such a nice Holiday.

The Drywall is finished so I'll be Trimming the house next getting it ready for paint!

Ryan's Ordination

I ordained Ryan a Deacon Sunday. When I look at Ryan now I can't help but feel so proud of him and the young man he is becoming. The Ward is very excited to have him in the Quorum as their 2nd Deacon. He is one of four priesthood holders in the Young Men's program and has impressively stepped up to the task.

Becky's and my parents both traveled from Utah for the event and it was really nice to share it with them. This picture was taken with my parents outside of the home we are building.
